Hello Members & Friends,
2020 – the 69th Anniversary for our Society!! I found out when I was visiting with Rose Gobeil that she was the initiator of our Annual Luncheons. So much history and a history to be proud of.
I broke my arm almost a month ago – slipped on snow covered ice and I am not a very proficient one-handed typist.
2019 was a very good year for our Society. We are waiting for spring so we can get up to the cabin at Jewel Lake. We need to have a few work parties there and will call for volunteers. Looking forward to holding our Picnic there.
Our Annual Anniversary Luncheon is scheduled for Sunday, February 23, 2020 at 12 pm at the New Century Restaurant in Grand Forks. Christopher Stevenson will be our guest speaker this year. You may know him from his Boundary history page on Facebook. A full, all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet along with tea or coffee for $20.00 per person. Of course, our traditional German chocolate cake will be available along with the restaurant’s desserts. We hope to see a good number of our members out. Guests are always welcome. I’ll have copies of “Kettle River Journal” and Report #17 present for sale – if there any other Reports you’d like to obtain a copy of just send a quick email and I’ll bring it along. It is renewal time for some of our members – I’m hoping to get notices out this coming week.
Our next regular meeting is on Wednesday, February 19th at 1:00 p.m in the Grand Forks Public Library Meeting Room. Members are always welcome to attend.
Historically yours,
Doreen Sorensen
