The Boundary Historical Society is a registered non-profit organization formed in 1951 to stimulate public interest in local history, preserve our historical sites, and document our history in the Boundary area.  The Boundary area stretches from Anarchist Mountain eastward to the Paulson summit and includes many communities such as Bridesville, Rock Creek, and Beaverdell in the west to Grand Forks and Christina Lake in the east.

Our society has been a member of the British Columbia Historical Federation since 1954 and we strive to contribute to the awareness of British Columbia’s history in the Boundary region.

Our activities include publishing Boundary History Reports that contain stories about people and places of the Boundary, nuggets of historical facts, lore and culture that form our history.

Two local historical sites are projects maintained by our society – the Phoenix Pioneer Cemetery, and Gladys Floyd’s Cabin at Jewel Lake which was built in 1899.

In addition to our annual summer picnic, our group can be found at local fall fairs, public markets and craft fairs throughout the year.

This website is our commitment to the goal of making people everywhere aware of our rich local history.
